Lets Move Forward And Stop This Phishing

Phishing is the Criminally fraudulent process to make the users fool and acquire their private information’s like user names, passwords and credit card details etc. It is well known as Hacking. A Phishing technique was described in detail in a paper and presentation that was delivered to the International HP Users Group in 1987.

Regarding the attacks of phishing, in 1996, Hackers team hacked the accounts of the AOL users and that news was quite popular those days. Not only this, in 2004 also, lots of websites were infected by virus due to which people lost their all data.

It is estimated that between May 2004 and May 2005, approximately 1.2 million computer users in the United States suffered from phishing, approximately US$929 million were lost at that Time. Also in UK, losses from web banking fraud - mostly from phishing - almost more than £23.2 million in 2005.

How to identify the Phishing?
Internet artist what they do, they just create the website which looks like the company website so when a user visit that hackers website, it is very difficult to identify whether it is fake website or not. So how to identify the Phishing? Simple way to identify is to check the domain name. Because domain name cannot be the same. Hackers mainly use the domain name which looks like the same as that of the company website. For Example if they create a fake Orkut website then they choose www.okrut.com as a fake domain name so that it looks www.orkut.com

What are the Recent Attempts of the Phishing?
Social networking website which are quite popular all over the world, are the prime target of the phishers these days. Phishers try to hack the users account so that they can get their personal details. Not only social networking websites but also Rapidshare file sharing website has been targeted by phishing to obtain a premium account, which removes limit of downloading and also provide the fast speed on downloading the files.

How to Prevent from the Phishing?
NEVER click on a link in an email in order to enter your login information or password. Instead, if you think the email may be legitimate, go directly to the company website using your Internet Explorer. Always use a company's official website to submit personal information. Call the company, if still in doubt about what the email says.

How to Stop the Phishing?
Contact the Internet Crime Complaint Center at www.ifccfbi.gov , which is a partnership between the FBI and the National White Collar Crime Center. If you get any email and you thing it is a fake one & send by the phishers then simply forward that email at spam@uce.gov
